GROUNDTRUTH Are Saving Our Planet Whilst Creating Astonishing Technical Gear

The GROUNDTRUTH brand was founded on the need for versatile and reliable technical bags and accessories that could handle the most extreme locations. Putting people, our planet and performance at its very core the brand were founded in 2017 by London sisters Sophia, Georgia and Nina Scott, together they saw an opportunity to design problem-solving travel goods that not only provide but also drive positive change. The three sister’s work has brought them into direct contact with a range of extreme environments as documentary film-makers and have seen it all, whether that be witnessing drought in East Africa or conflict in the Middle East, the sisters’ travel experiences sparked their drive to create a company that could make meaningful change to both its customer’s lives and the greater environmental effect. The combination of Sophia and Georgia’s operational experience in harsh environments, and Nina’s understanding of contemporary design and exploration of new fabrics, birthed a range of highly durable bags which boast both practicality and durability for people who need them. Designed for contemporary travel and tailored to transition seamlessly from city life to nature’s more extreme climates, GROUNDTRUTH puts resilience at the heart of its design. Summer/Autumn 2022, will see the brand launch the world’s first CO2-embedded x PET range. By 2025, GROUNDTRUTH predicts it will have removed over 10 million plastic bottles from the environment to turn them into its range of high-performance goods. That’s pretty good going we think. Before that, however, summer 2022 GROUNDTRUTH is releasing the first range of bags and accessories made from 100% recycled materials embedded with enhanced captured CO2. After two years of in-depth innovation and development with their partner OCO, GROUNDTRUTH’s new product range demonstrates the direct utilisation of CO2 emissions into end products – the world’s first carbon sink backpack. The collection, named RIKR, is a host of tantalising backpacks and carry-alls that function everywhere from extreme high-risk environments to inner-city boardroom meetings. Every single element in the range is made from 100% recycled material, using post-consumer plastic recovered from landfill sites, waterways and oceans worldwide Each RIKR backpack removes 120 plastic bottles from our environment. It’s worth noting that every single element in the range is made from 100% recycled material, using post-consumer plastic recovered from landfill sites, waterways and oceans worldwide Each RIKR backpack removes 120 plastic bottles from our environment. GROUNDTRUTH have already removed over 480,000 plastic bottles to create their bespoke recycled textile, the brand has partnered with a recycling factory in the Tangerang district of Indonesia, which receives an average of 2000 tons of plastic refuse every single week. The collected plastic is made into pellets and spun into yarn, before being woven by textile manufacturers. As the brand grows they say they will continue to innovate new materials and new ways of working that help to protect the planet and the people that inhabit it. Continuously evolving, GROUNDTRUTH reflects the central partnership between the sisters and their desire for change in the fashion and manufacturing industries. See The Full Range Groundtruth.global
